Manage your page 'META' data
Do It Yourself SEO
META data is information about a web page that is used by browsers and search engine spiders. It is stored in a different part of the web page than the usual page content.
Having the right information in your META data makes a real difference to where your page ranks on a search engine results page (SERP).
If you have a YourSite website, there are a few things you can do yourself to improve your search engine rankings. When editing the contents of your page, take a couple of minutes to click on the SEO tab where you will find areas for Page Title, Description and Keywords.
The Page Title is what shows up in the very top of the browser window as well as on search engine results pages. We recommend you give each page its own title, which is unique and relevant to the contents of that page. The first 65 characters is the most important because that shows up on a search engine results page.
The Description is used by search engines. If you don't have a description a search engine will grab other text from your page, so why not put in some text that can entice users to click through to your site?
Keywords should contain a list of keywords relevant to the content on your page. Don't repeat words, and make sure each word or phrase is separated by a comma.
It is really worth taking the time to do this SEO work on each and every page in your website. If you need professional help contact YourSite.
